We can help you settle . . or aggressively represent you at trial.
Divorce is emotionally draining and can be legally complex.
Sometimes divorcing couples can work out some or all issue themselves or with the aid of a mediator. Sometimes not. The assistance of a lawyer is important in either situation.
In both situations, we work hard to minimize conflict and expense. Some examples:
- If the parties have engaged a independent mediator and have reached agreement, it is important for each party to consult with an attorney to review the agreement from the point of view of that party, to ensure that the agreement and its implications are fully understood.
- If the parties have been negotiating or having discussions without a mediator, then they can often overcome difficulties, prior to contested litigation, with intelligent and thoughtful legal representation.
- When litigation is inevitable, aggressive representation is important to achieve the desired goals. We work to achieve this without an expensive trial. When trial does become necessary, thorough preparation and attention to the client’s needs are key.
We are well practiced at helping clients navigate the confusing and often heart-wrenching landscape of divorce, along with all the questions and issues that may arise, at every stage.
We are also experienced in handling post-divorce matters, paternity, child support, and custody/parenting issues.
